Our Story
From the Sea
Growing up in Bodrum meant growing up with the sea.
Waking with salt in your hair, holding pebbles in your palms, looking at shells — and seeing in them not just beauty, but meaning.
Cansu Türkdoğan Şimşek’s hands began collecting, assembling, transforming when she was still a child.
Every shell gathered, every stone arranged — was already a collection.
Those hands grew. But the way of seeing never changed.
Today, in her Bodrum atelier, time slows.
Hammer, file, solder — not tools, but extensions of the body.
Every piece is born with a rhythm. Slow, deliberate, conscious.
This is why Cansui exists.
For a world where making is a form of meditation,
where every piece carries emotion,
where nothing is accidental.
Her hands in the piece.
Her heart in the moment.
Every piece carries a trace.
Cansui is its permanent form.
